The successful collaboration between EU BON and GBIF has resulted in a new version of the Integrated Publishing Toolkit (v2.3) which enables support of sample-based data. The newly ratified Darwin Core terms will support mobilization of data for GEO BON’s Essential Biodiversity Variables (EBVs), in particular the ‘species populations’ class.
The sample-based data publishing was addressed extensively during the Training event for GBIF Node Managers and teams which was held in Antananarivo (Madagascar) in October 2015.
L.Smirnova (RMCA), leading the EU BON tasks on data sharing tools and trainings, was invited for the introduction to the sample-based data problematic and has facilitated one of the working groups.
Addressed topics and related presentations are available via GBIF community site.
If you do biodiversity monitoring and are Interested in data sharing in general please join the sample-based data publishing interest group.
